Welcome to the Alliance of Semiconductor Innovation Canada.

Founded in 2021, our organization is dedicated to promoting the Canadian semiconductor ecosystem across the country and from industry big and small, to academia, to non-governmental organizations (NGO). We are an independent and impartial entity with the purpose of advancing the Canadian semiconductor industry by strengthening awareness, interactions, partnerships, co-operation, and collaboration within Canada and globally.

At ASIC, we are committed to fostering a strong and thriving semiconductor ecosystem in Canada. With participants representing multi-nationals, small- and mid-size businesses and organizations, as well as globally recognised research and teaching institutions, we interactly monthly Canada-wide.

Our collaboration is driven by a distinct purpose: to enhance and support the Canadian semiconductor ecosystem while being accountable to our participants and national stakeholders. To achieve this, we bring together organizations from public and private sectors, including industrial organizations, non-governmental organizations, academic institutions and others.

Through strategic collaboration, effective partnerships, and a diverse and broad network, the Alliance of Semiconductor Innovation Canada propels the growth and innovation of the Canadian semiconductor ecosystem.

VISION

Strengthen and expand the Canadian semiconductor ecosystem in Canada’s clusters of excellence:

  • high-speed data communication (electronic and photonic)
  • AI computing
  • compound semiconductor fabrication and design in power electronics, photonics, and wireless
  • MEMS
  • packaging

These are growth opportunities for Canadian excellence in the future through fabrication development facilities for compound semiconductors and photonics to support development and research of integrated compound semiconductor devices.
